• Research Promotion and Coordination: KESERTI promotes, coordinates, and regulates research on sugar, sugar crops, sugar by-products, technologies, and management practices relevant to the industry.
• Access to Research and Technology: The institute expedites equitable access to research information, resources, sugar technologies, and innovations, promoting the application of research findings to develop the sugar sector.
• Policy Formulation and Advisory: It formulates policies and makes recommendations regarding sugar research, development, and training aligned with national sugar policies. It also advises on resource requirements for sugar research at national and county levels.
